Listen now (17 min) | Today on Digital Pragmatism, we will be discussing this topic, and more, as we explore how and why providing a phone to young children can support their development without introducing the risks.
The above comment only relates to the audio podcast. I followed the link to the YT video from your email. My thoughts:
1) I like the new format! Having segments to look forward to will be great!
2) In looking at digital minimalism in 4-5 years, I think it will become something akin to vegetarianism. It will be considered a lifestyle choice that becomes accepted, if not always understood, by the general public. Peer groups will contain "offline" abstainers and this will be part of the norm.
3) I like Gosia's comparison of smartphones to sugar. Yes, you feel worse after using a smartphone, but you also feel worse after eating sugar. Both provide a temporary boost which is artificial, and then the crash sets in once the brain has lost its chemical enhancement.
I believe this is the same upload as last week's episode.
