Digital Minimalism

My Punkt MP02 is dying

I bought a second Punkt MP02 phone but it developed a screen issue in just two months. I believe it's a result of poor quality control, not misuse.

My Punkt MP02 is dying

Artful simplicity. That’s what I sought when I purchased my Punkt MP02. A device designed to peel back the layers of overcomplication in our digital lives. But now, standing here, staring at this line across its screen, a fracture in its supposed perfection, I’m compelled to question that simplicity.

The line represents a dead space where no pixels display. A screen that should gleam with uncomplicated efficiency instead shows the scars of shoddy workmanship. But is it a simple problem to fix?

The Art of Craftsmanship

This isn’t just a case of a faulty device; it’s about expectation versus reality. It’s about the trust I placed in the hands of the Punkt team, believing in their promise of a well-crafted product. A trust now challenged by the sight of this error. Does their craftsmanship extend beyond the initial design and into the manufacturing process?

I treated my Punkt with care. I didn’t drop it, didn't subject it to any harsh conditions. Yet, here we are, just two months in, and my digital companion bears the mark of an uncaring world.

Firmware updates, reboots, the usual remedies proved ineffective. The problem wasn't a mere software glitch. It was a mechanical failure. A matter of physicality, not virtuality.

The Quest for Quality

Craftsmanship isn't just about creating something beautiful; it's about imbuing an object with durability, with a resilience that stands the test of time. It's about creating something that serves not just its immediate purpose, but also the greater good of reducing waste, of cherishing resources.
